Branded vs Assembled PC

Branded PC

A computer offered by a company like hp, Compaq, Acer etc. is called a Branded PC.

Assemble PC

A computer or a pc customized or configured according to the your needs and budget to the best of performance with branded parts is called Assembled PC.

Some simple differences between both:

Branded PC

Costs is much higher than the assembled pc having same performance or configuration ( Explained later ).

Assembled PC

Costs can be controlled and is less for same configuration compared to the Branded one.

Branded PC : A Branded pc offers very little at much higher cost compared to Assembled one.

Reasons :

• The Brand name carries the price.
• All the company price i.e. the staff, service etc all are included in the price. ( Service is no issue because if you purchase a good assembled pc no question of repairing; if it comes all the parts offers 3 years warranty where as Branded company offers 1 year on site or carry in warranty. This is the major difference.) On site warranty : Means the service representative comes at your door step if any problem occurs and takes away the components for repairing and gives away back by coming home and makes your pc running again. Carry in warranty : Means that you yourself have to take the part to the service center the give you time to collect and then again you have to go and collect the component or part and fix it by your self. If this is the condition then why go for Branded PC Assembled is better. Let me tell you when you purchase a pc a branded one the include the service cost in it and if you buy a assembled pc most of the components are carry in warranty but at much lower price. Or pay some more bugs to get On site warranty. Then also the assembled is better because we know what are we buying and any ways the company too includes the cost of service. So why not take assembled with great advantages. Go on Reading you will understand more better
• They give some extra features at much increased cost. You may not know whether you need the feature or not.
• Example : Back up software.( No need for home pc )
• Card reader in built ( Means in the cabinet. The box of CPU. )It can be purchased externally at much lower cost or of best company giving the right cost( Meaning better brand.)
• Similarly TV tuner card internal or external ( A card which can allow you to watch TV in your pc. Internal allows you to record the television program and the external one allows you to only watch the program. Internal as it suggests; it is inside the cabinet and the external is in front of you on the desk.)

Branded PC offers less expandability compared to assembled PC.

Because the board they are giving is of very low capability. I will explain the Boards in detail.

They only add extra features and the cost increases. On a scale of 1 to 10 of boards they offer you boards of range 4. It means there are 6 new model of great performance available.

In assembled pc all things are in your hands to decide. All the components can be changed or configured by thinking your needs, budget etc. In Branded PC they don’t allow you to change the board. The only allow to add Ram or offer different inches monitors. Look at the add in papers. They do not give the configuration openly. They say call this line.

Explaination :

The features or the tech specs are not explained by the vendor at the Branded outlet.

Where as in assembled pc you can ask the vendor, you can go prepared with your needs, vendor can suggest the configurations for you.

Being configuration specific :

You can choose best components like the :

• Mother board ( Asus, Intel, MSI, Gigabyte, Ashrock, and many more.)
• Ram (Kingston, Transcend, twin moss, again many more.)
• CPU ( Only two choices Intel/AMD. But variation of speeds.)
• Hard disk drive ( Hitachi, Western Digital, Seagate, Samsung the best brands.)
• Bull’s eye If all these things are selected then you get the best pc.

The Phenotype

Obviously, after purchasing a PC you want your friends to make good comments on it. Here is phenotype.

Anyways first you want that your PC should look great.

In Branded pc you have no choice of phenotype.

In assembled my GOD! where do I go ? So many choices offered that you are questioned.

The Main difference is the performance.

Let me tell you once again you can choose the best performing, good looking, low in cost parts.

The branded pc offers only standard keyboards( they are multimedia : means the have shortcut keys to like volume, email, home, calculator and goes on.)

The Real truth of Branded pc.

Actually a Branded PC is the Assembled one indirectly.

How ?

They purchase parts of other company and assemble them together to make their branded PC.

• They also have to purchase mother board as you do.
• They need to buy Hard disk of the company which you can purchase.
• They also buy ram of same companies that are available at your vendor.
• Only the difference is that they print their name on the external products to make you believe it is their won product. Internally all the parts are of different companies. So tell me what is the difference between Branded PC and Assembled one ?

Example :

• The writer Branded company offers is normally of Light scribe. It is the product of Asus / Lighteon.
• Graphics are Provided by Nvidia Geforce or ATI readon.

Benefits of Branded PC

• Offers external features like Card reader, or Tv tuner.
• 1 year free service.
• 1 year warranty
• Genuine Operating System.
• Good installation procedure.

Drawbacks of Branded PC

• Too costly
• Much less offered at high cost.
• Only 1 year warranty offered although some parts offer 3 years warranty.
• A common performance machine.
• Limited Expandability.

Benefits of Assembled PC

• Low cost for a better performance.
• Good performance compared to Branded.
• Flexibility for expandability.
• Feature packed machine.
• Satisfy your needs.
• You get 3 years warranty.

Drawbacks of Assembled PC.

• No service for 1 year.
• No installation done.
• No genuine Operating system.
• All products have carry in warranty.

NOTE :

One thing to remember If you go on wishing for better features in Assembled PC the cost cross the Branded one. But believe me you get the best machine and will enjoy paying so much for it than paying to the Branded one.

I have 6 machines all are assembled one. All are working at their best.

And let me tell you they are never shut down. Only if something goes wrong then they are shut down.

And let me tell you there is no need to have Air conditioner to run a pc for long hours.

First I had 3 PC running constantly; but no AC. Now I have made a small office so I have put the AC.
