Intel too Bad when it comes to offers

Posted by Computer on May 6, 2008

Intel Released it’s X48 Chipset.

ASUS was the first to release it.

As most of the people are die hard Intel fans, without any issue purchased the boards at a whopping price.

Have someone ever told you what Intel offers in it’s motherboards ?

Here is the comparison between Intel’s last 3 Chipsets and see what are the difference.

Chipsets

975

X38

X48

Processors

Core 2 Family/Extreme

Core 2 Family/Quad

Core 2 Family/ExtremeQX9770

FSB

1066/800

1333/1066/800

1600/1333/1066

PCI E Slot Graphics card slot

1.0

2.0

2.0

Memory type

DDR2

DD2/DDR3 Dual Channel

DDR3 only.

This small table shows what Intel offers with all it’s new chipsets.

They only make some changes in the technology related to either their processors or memory types and FSB ( Front Serial Bus ).

These chipsets are released in a rat race with AMD.

They also released processors to compete with the rat race.

You might have seen after Pentium 3 at least after 5 years the Pentium 4 was launched.

And now also you might have seen after Pentium 4 , Dual core, Celeron D, Pentium D, Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, and now geared for Core 2 Extreme.

A new user where should he land looking at this.

Even the hardware assemblers are confused sometimes due to so much releases in such a short time.

Now you can easily judge where the performance would go. No time to judge how it’s going. One after the another is launched and the people are fooled.

In just Core 2 Duo there are 30( approximately.) different model and variants.

Not only in speed but in FSB also.

In the same speed the Cache varies or the FSB varies.

So you can make out how difficult it is to make a decision.

But let me tell you Intel has developed a better Quad core than AMD.

But I strictly recommend that anyone who plans to buy a Motherboard please go for

ASUS,MSI,GIGABYTE or XFX. These companies offer Intel’s Chipset but the on board graphics and sound is far more better than Intel.

Intel Best Chipset was the 915 entry level for LGA 775 Sockets.

The best board from Intel. After this Intel launched bunch of motherboards

945,946,Q963,Q965,G965,G35,Q95/Q33P31,G33,G31,X925,955,X38 and now

X48.

Have you observed only the numbers are changing with variation in hardly 2 to 3 features. And each of this series ahs different variants in its class more confusing.

ASUS, MSI, GIGABYTE or XFX all these use Intel Chipsets but also offer some great sound quality and graphics.

I am die hard fan of Intel’ s Processors but not motherboards.

I have Pentium 4 processor and A VIA tech Motherboard.

It’ s the most economic board for Intel.

There are so many boards ASUS is offering with all in one features.

I will study and let you know very soon.

Thank you.
