Gaming with assembled PC goes even better with ASUS P5N SLI

Configuration

Motherboard : P5N Sli ASUS

Processor : Core 2 Duo 2.66Ghz ( will do if gaming is only concern. A bit low processor will also do. )

Memory ( RAM ) : Cossiar, Transcend, Model PC5200 667MHz or higher 1GB stick x 4 / x2 = 4GB or 2 GB.

Hard disk Drive : Seagate, Western Digital. 250GB ( is enough ) can go for 350 or 520 GB.

Graphics Card :

9600 GT 512MB x 2 = 1 GB graphics memory. Or a bit low in price 8800GT 512 or 768 MB ( it comes in these two variants ) x2.

One graphics Card will also do. But this motherboard doesn’t work without graphics card.

Power supply or ( SMPS ) should be 400Watts and above minimum. VIP and Antec.

Because these graphics cards require external supply.

Cabinet : iball, zebronics, VIP.

No two different cards can go together in this system.

Example : one 8800GT and the other 9600 GT.

Both the cards should be of the same model.

This is only the drawback of the SLI system also called Scalable link interface registered trade mark of Nvidia Geforce.

But it doubles the performance of gaming by introducing two graphic cards together.

512 x 512 MB = 1 GB

No game can break this barrier.

You will be able to enjoy every bit of your game; at least 2 to 3 years from now.

Because you cannot challenge the technology.

You can add the new graphics cards like 9800, 7 series cards 7600, 7300 etc.

It’s up to you where you want to land.

What is exactly performance?

Performance is not the speed of the pc, nor it the long hours that a pc runs at a stretch. It is what kind of work you expect from a PC and how efficiently it gives you the output.

· Gaming

These are the type of the PC’ s listed in ascending order of their costs.

Means the 1^st with the less cost and so on.

PC’ s can be a combination of one or more of the above PC types.

Let me define the type so get a clear idea regarding each of the type.

Definition:

Home PC :

• It is generally a PC which comes with less cost.
• Best for new learners.
• It is a simple machine which can perform average application for home use and a kind of office use too.
• The main advantage of this PC is it is very cheap by price; not by quality
• The disadvantage is that it cannot give you total multimedia experience. Meaning a high end experience.

Office PC :

• As the name suggests; it is made3 for office use only.
• It contains all the features needed for office applications. It is also a good performing pc but as I told it cannot give you all in one experience.
• You might have seen a computer in a bank which doesn’t even have a optical derive.( A drive to play cd’ s).
• It is highly dedicated to office work.

Application PC :

• It is a PC with total preference given to applications.
• Application means the soft wares which run on a PC for giving a specific output.
• Example 3Dmax a kind of animation software.
• It’s price can range from low end to higher end depending on what application you want to use.
• Best for developers developing animations, web designers etc.

Multimedia :

• Hear is the machine which every body likes.
• Multimedia PC which gives you total multimedia experience.
• Multimedia means movies, music, home theater, gaming to some extent, television in PC, better sound quality.
• This PC also ranges from a mid range price to a very high end.
• It purely depends on you to which range to select.
• These high end PC’s are normally used (High end range) by music directors, sound recorders, sound engineers.

Entertainment :

• This PC is I can say a combination of multimedia and itself.
• This is the PC can be used by average home or by an entertainment lover.
• It can give you all in bits of joy. Some part of Entertainment, multimedia, home, and some use for office too.
• Entertainment PC’s are for those who will use the pc only for movies, music mainly.

Gaming :

• Gaming PC’s are for gamers.
• Gamers are of 3 types: Enthusiastic, hardcore, gamers.
• These PC contains everything from entertainment to gaming to very single passion a PC freak needs.
• Gaming PC’s costs much higher than any other usual PC’s.
• Enthusiastic PC’s are the higher costing pc. Second comes the hardcore gamers and the third comes gamers.
• Gaming PC are the combination of entertainment, multimedia, gaming and applications too.
